The Washington Huskies football team is coming off a solid overall season.
The Huskies beat the Boise State Broncos 38-10 in the Los Angeles Bowl on Dec. 13 to finish the season 9-4. It was a three-win improvement in head coach Jedd Fisch's second season at the head of the program. Washington finished 6-7 in Fisch's first year last season.
The on-field improvement in the program was coupled with new heights in recruitment.
The Huskies have the 12th-best recruiting class in the national according to 247Sports. That ranking is the highest in program history and fifth in the Big Ten behind USC (No. 1), Oregon (No. 3), Ohio State (No. 6) and Michigan (No. 11).

The future is bright for Washington. But, unfortunately for the team, two of the most promising players on the team could soon be departing.
Freshman wide receiver Raiden Vines-Bright and sophomore running back Adam Mohammed both have entered the transfer portal according to various reports.
Mohammed has spent both seasons in his collegiate career with the Huskies. This past season, he played in all 13 games for Washington and started several due to injuries to senior running back Jonah Coleman.
Mohammed rushed 106 times for 523 yards and five touchdowns (4.9 yards a carry) and caught 17 passes for 138 yards.
Mohammed was expected to be the team's starting running back in 2026 with the departure of Coleman for the NFL draft.
With Coleman and Mohammed gone, the running back on the roster with the most game experience is freshman Jordan Washington. He ran the ball 27 times for 233 yards (8.6 yards a carry) and a touchdown.
Vines-Bright, a three-star recruit in the class of 2025 according to 247Sports, was behind notable program receivers Denzel Boston and fellow freshman Dezmen Roebuck.
Vines-Bright missed multiple games due to a concussion. In his first year of action, he caught 24 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown.
It isn't unheard of for players to enter the transfer portal and then return to the team they originally transferred from, so there is a possibility that Mohammed and Vines-Bright could both return to the program.
But, barring returns, Washington has several players in the 2026 class that can step up to take roles left by Mohammed and Vines-Bright.
Included in the '26 recruiting class are four-star running back Brian Bonner, the fifth-best running back in the class according to the 247Sports Composite, and four-star wide receiver Jordan Caly.
The Huskies flipped Clay from Baylor. He's listed as the 28th-best receiver in the country according to the 247Sports composite.
