The Huskies could end up landing one of the best class of 2027 defensive backs in the Pacific Northwest

The Washington Huskies football team inked one of the best recruiting classes in program history.

At the conclusion of National Signing Day, which took place Dec. 3-5, the Huskies had the 12th-ranked 2026 recruiting class in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. That was the top-ranked recruiting class in program history according to the 247Sports Composite.

Several of the more notable additions from Washington's '26 recruits, including five-star offensive lineman Kodi Greene and four-star wide receiver Jordan Clay, are expected to make an impact on the team in 2026.

The Huskies are also well-into trying to land players for the class of 2027, as well.

According to 247Sports, Washington has two confirmed commits from the '27 class: three-star wide receiver Braylon Pope and three-star athlete Maurice Williams. Both players are Washington natives.

The Huskies are one of the finalists for another in-state recruit, four-star quarterback Sione Kaho. Washington is also recruiting four-star offensive lineman Oluwasemilore Olubobola.

The Huskies are also reportedly recruiting a notable cornerback with some familial ties to the program.

According to a report from Hayes Fawcett of 247Sports, Washington is one of the final six teams being considered by four-star cornerback Josiah Molden. The other five teams are Southern California (USC), Texas, Oregon, Ohio State and Miami.

Josiah Molden's brother, Elijah Molden, is a cornerback in the NFL who currently plays with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Elijah Molden played with the Huskies from 2017-20, where he was a three-time All-Pac-12 selection: twice first-team ('19-20) and one time second-team ('18).

The Molden family also has ties to Oregon. Elijah and Josiah Molden's father, Alex Molden, also played cornerback for the Ducks from 1991-95.

Josiah Molden is currently ranked as the 181st best player in the country, 23rd-best cornerback in the class and the best player in Oregon, according to 247Sports.

With his ties to both schools, if Washington or Oregon were able to land Molden, one side would have bragging rights over the other and be in prime position to come out on the winning end of the overall recruiting battle in the PNW.

The Ducks are also one of the final teams being considered by Kaho

Huskies coach Jedd Fisch came to the program with the reputation as a program rebuilder. Given his success in winning from Year 1 to Year 2 (6-7 final record to 9-4), the stout '26 class and the prospects UW's recruiting in the '27 class, that reputation looks to have been well-earned.
