The Washington Huskies football team has been putting the final touches to one of the best 2027 recruiting classes in the country.

Since June began, the Huskies have earned commitments from two four-star wide receivers: Tre Moore and Dontay Tyson Jr., and three-star edge rusher Chaz Gray.

Following the trio of new commitments, Washington has 18 total recruits committed in the '27 class. The group ranks 21st in the country, per 247Sports.

The Huskies biggest position of note in the '27 recruiting class is wide receiver, which boasts four pass-catchers, three of whom are four-star players, including Moore, Tyson and Zerek Sidney. The only of the four wide receivers committed to UW who's not a four-star is Braylon Pope, who's ranked as the top player in Washington.

Washington also seems to be well-positioned to potentially add a fifth wide receiver (fourth four-star) to that crop based on a recent decision made by Osani Gayles.

Gayles, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound wideout who attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., recently canceled official visits to Notre Dame and Tennessee per an article from Roman Tomashoff of Huskies Wire.

Gayles caught 20 passes for 492 yards and five touchdowns in nine games with IMG Academy in his junior season last fall.

The Fighting Irish and Volunteers were among Gayles' final five, but him choosing to cancel the visits seems to indicate that he's down to his final three. Which, based on official visits he's already taken and others he has scheduled, would be the Huskies, Stanford and Alabama.

Gayles took his official visit to UW on June 7.

It seems like among the final three, the Crimson Tide are considered the finalists for Gayles.

Rivals.com's prediction model has Alabama with a 91.5% chance to land Gayles.

Gayles is ranked as the 46th-best overall player, eighth-best wide receiver and fifth-best player in Florida in the class per the 247Sports composite. He would be Washington's highest-ranked recruit if the team is able to make a late push to land him.

Even if Gayles does commit to the Crimson Tide, that doesn't mean the Huskies are done potentially adding wide receivers to their '27 class.

Washington is one of the final teams being considered by four-star wide receiver Zion White and is one of the two teams with the highest odds to land him, in addition to Cal, per Rivals.com's prediction model.

White has official visits lined up with the Huskies on June 19 and Cal on June 15. He's currently visiting another final team, North Carolina.
