Since Washington Huskies football head coach Jedd Fisch took over the program ahead of the 2024 season, UW has been a more consistent force on the recruiting trail.

Per 247Sports, the Huskies' 2025 recruiting class ranked 27th in the country, the 2026 class ranked 12th and the 2027 recruiting class (which is months away from being finalized) ranks 11th. Washington's '26 class was the highest-ranked in program history.

Throughout all three recruiting classes, the Huskies have earned commitments from the top players in Washington state: linebacker Zaydrius Rainey Sale ('25; 247Sports/composite), defensive lineman Derek Colman-Brusa ('26, 247Sports/composite) and defensive lineman Tevita Nonu (247Sports) and wide receiver Braylon Pope (composite).

While the Huskies are looking to put the final touches on what's shaping out to be a special '27 class, it's also getting involved in the 2028 recruiting cycle.

And Washington has reportedly joined the field in attempting to land one of the best quarterbacks in the '28 graduating class.

According to a post on his official "X" account, the Huskies extended an offer to five-star quarterback Donald Tabron II, who attends Cass Technical in Detroit.

Tabron was an instant contributor at the high school level. In his freshman season in 2024, he completed 65.2% of his passes for 1,656 yards, 17 touchdowns and an interception and led Cass Technical to a Michigan Division I State title, the school's first since 2016.

Tabron led Cass Technical back to the state title game this past fall and threw 2,819 yards and 35 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-3 1/2, 180-pound signal-caller is ranked as the 30th best overall player, third-best quarterback and third-best player in Michigan per the 247Sports Composite.

If Washington does manage to make a push for Tabron, it will come against many of the top programs in the nation. UW's offer to the Detroit quarterback was his 37th college offer.

Other programs to have offered Tabron include Michigan, Ohio State, LSU, Indiana, Texas A&M, Miami, UCLA and Oregon, among others.

Tabron isn't the only blue-chip player that the Huskies are in the early stages of attempting to land.

Washington has also offered Class of '28 and Arizona-based edge rushers Jalanie George and Landen Wade. The two defensive linemen are the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the state of Arizona according to the 247Sports composite, respectively and are both top 20 overall players according to the website. The Huskies hosted Wade for an unofficial visit this past week and have already been named as one of the George's top teams.
