The Washington Huskies will have several starters and reserves test other waters via the transfer portal.
There's at least a dozen players who were on Washington's roster this past season that have either confirmed or are expected to enter the transfer portal, which is set to be open from Jan. 2-Jan. 16.
At least one of the Huskies' former players could be lining up on the opposite side of his former team in 2026.
According to a report from Adam Gorney of On3 Sports, defensive back Leroy Bryant will be taking multiple visits from Big Ten teams.
Bryant has been confirmed to have visits scheduled with Northwestern and UCLA. Michigan State has also reached out with interest in Bryant.
According to Gorney's report, Stanford, Cal and San Diego State have also inquired about Bryant.
MORE HUSKIES STORIES:
Bryant, a redshirt sophomore, was recruited as a three-star recruit in the 2023 class out of Fairfield, Calif.
Bryant played four games in 2023-24 before using his redshirt and played in all three of Washington's postseason games, including the College Football Championship national championship game against Michigan.
Bryant stayed with the team after former head coach Kalen DeBoer left to take the job at Alabama and Jedd Fisch was hired to replace him.
Bryant played six games in 2024 and started one, the Sun Bowl against Louisville to end the season.
Bryant returned to the team this past season. He appeared in all 13 games and started five. He finished the season with 18 total tackles (15 solo) and two interceptions. Both of Bryant's interceptions came in the Huskies' 38-10 win against Boise State in the Los Angeles Bowl on Dec. 13.
Including Bryant, here are the Washington who either are in or have announced their intention of entering the transfer portal:
Wide receivers Raiden Vines-Bright and Audric Harris; running back Adam Mohammed; offensive linemen Paki Finau, Zach Henning, Maximus McCree and Davit Boyajyan; defensive lineman Bryce Butler; linebacker Deven Bryant; safety Vincent Holmes and cornerbacks Leroy Bryant and Dyson McCutcheon.
Most of the Huskies' transfers currently in the portal, including Bryant, were key reserves from this past season. Some players, including Mohammed and Vines-Bright, were expected to be starting players in 2026.
Washington will have to peruse to transfer portal to find depth to replace its lost players in 2026 and will likely get a boost from its '26 recruiting class, which ranks 12th in the country according to 247Sports.
