The Washington Huskies football team are currently in the midst of the best season under second-year head coach Jedd Fisch.
The Huskies are set to play against the UCLA Bruins at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday. If Washington beats UCLA, it will improve to 8-3 on the season with one more game on the schedule — two wins better than Fisch's first season at the helm in 2024-25.
Two days before the Huskies' showdown against the Bruins, Washington landed a major player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Washington earned a commit from 6-foot-1, 270-pound four-star defensive lineman J.D. Hill out of Mission Viejo, Calif.
Hill is ranked the 103rd overall prospect in the country according to 247Sports. He's the Huskies third-highest rated recruit on their 2026 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. Viejo chose the Dawgs over West Virginia,
Hill's commitment gives the Huskies 21 hard-commits in the 2026 recruiting class. According to 247Sports, they currently have the 15th-best recruiting class in the country and fifth-best in the Big Ten behind USC (No. 1), Oregon (No. 5), Ohio State (No. 6) and Michigan (No. 11).
Here's where the Huskies' recruiting class stands after Hill's commitment:
Five-star commitments: Kodi Greene (offensive tackle).
Four-star commitments: Gavin Day (safety); Hill (defensive line); Brian Bonner (running back); Derek Colman-Brusa (edge); Rahsjon Duncan (cornerback); Mason James (wide receiver); Tufanua Ionatana Umu-Cais (defensive line); Jeron Jones (cornerback).
Three-star commitments: Dre Pollard (athlete); Derek Zammit (quarterback); Dominic Harris (offensive tackle); Elijah Durr (cornerback); Ezaya Tokio (linebacker); Ansu Sanoe (running back); Sam Vyhlidal (tight end); Ksani Jiles (cornerback); Blaise LaVista (wide receiver); Ah Deong Yang (interior offensive lineman); Ta'a Malu (defensive lineman); CJ Wallace (kicker).
There are still several high-end recruits in the '26 class that can find new homes due to various coaching changes. But if Washington's current ranking holds, it will be the first time the program has had a recruiting class ranked in the top 20 nationally since 2020.
The Huskies can make a good impression on remaining '26 and 2027 recruits with solid showings in their final contests of the year.
After Saturday's game against UCLA, Washington will play No. 7 Oregon at a to-be-determined time Nov. 29 at Husky Stadium in Seattle. The Huskies will also have a to-be-determined bowl game.
