The Washington Huskies are coming off their second consecutive Big Ten win on Friday. The Huskies beat the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 38-19 to improve to 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in Big Ten competition.
Sophomore quarterback Demond Williams Jr. had a program-best performance in the win. He threw for 402 yards and rushed for 136. He threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more. His 538 total yards were the most in a single game in team history.
Junior wide receiver Denzel Boston reeled in both of Williams' touchdown passes Friday, including a highlight 23-yard contested catch in the second quarter.
Boston finished the game with five receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns. His contested catch also kept an impressive streak going.
Boston has been targeted 40 times this season, and is yet to record a drop. For the season, Boston has caught 30 of those targets for 444 yards and six touchdowns.
At his current pace, Boston will have a career-best season.
Boston is on track to finish the year with 60 receptions for 888 yards (14.8 yards per catch) and 12 touchdowns. That would be a per-game clip of five receptions, 74 yards and a touchdown per game.

Boston is the leading receiver on the offense. Receiver Dezmen Roebuck is second with 331 yards and running back Jonah Coleman is third with 243 yards.
Boston has been the go-to target for Williams, who's been one of the most prolific passers in the Big Ten this season. Williams is fourth in the conference in passing yards (1,628) and has thrown 10 touchdowns.
Washington received votes in the latest Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll, and Boston and the rest of the Huskies will have a chance to enter the list with a win in their next contest against Michigan at 9 a.m. PT on Oct. 18 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich.
