Jonah Coleman was named a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy

The Washington Huskies football program has boasted one of the best running backs in the Big Ten for most of the season.

Senior tailback Jonah Coleman has been one of the go-to offensive options for Washington for the entire season.

Coleman has ran the ball 112 times for 568 yards (5.1 yards a carry) and 12 touchdowns. He's also reeled in 23 catches for 283 yards and a touchdown. His 12 rushing TDs and 13 total scores leads the country and his 129.86 total yards per game is eighth-most in the country.

Coleman has also won two Big Ten Player of the Week honors. The Huskies have won four conference Player of the Week honors this season. Sophomore quarterback Demond Williams Jr. has won the other two.

Coleman was named a first-team midseason All-American by the Associated Press.

Coleman also earned the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week award after Week 1 of this season.

Coleman was named to the preseason watchlist for the Doak Walker Award, which is annually handed out to the best running back in the country.

In addition to his performance on the field, Coleman has also been putting in work in the classroom.

According to a news release posted on Wednesday, Coleman was also named a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy. The honor is awarded to college football's "premier scholar-athlete," according to the release.

Coleman is the first Washington player to be named a finalist for the award since Elijah Molden in 2020.

Each finalist for the award receives an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. The winner of the trophy's scholarship is upgraded to $25,000.

Coleman has a 3.93 cumulative GPA in education studies: sports and education and will earn his degree in December.

Coleman's academic prowess was detailed in a video posted by the Big Ten on various accounts.
