SEATTLE — The No. 25 Washington Huskies women's basketball team took care of business in its second game of the season against the Montana Grizzlies on Nov. 10 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
The Huskies beat the Grizzlies 87-56 to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Washington has won its first two games of the season against Seattle U and Montana by an average score of 34 points.
In the win against the Grizzlies, the Huskies had three players score in double digits and out-rebounded their opponents 60-23. Eight Washington players had five or more rebounds.
The Huskies achieved this despite being without one of their best players.
Senior guard Elle Ladine has been out for the first two games of the season due to an undisclosed injury.
Washington will have its first true test of the season against Big 12 squad Utah at 1 p.m. PT on Nov. 15 in Salt Lake City.
Ladine's status against the Utes is still in question, according to Huskies head coach Tina Langley.
"She's just day-to-day is all I know," Langley said after the game against Montana on Nov. 10.
Despite the fact she hasn't been able to step on the court, Ladine has still been improving in at least one facet, according to Langley.
"This is a wonderful team," Langley said. "Even the way Elle has led while she's been out. Worked on her voice and supported and each player has been able to step up and really step into a moment without fear because of the relationships that they had as a team."
Ladine was second-time All-Big Ten last season. She averaged 17 points on 47.3% shooting from the floor (39.3% from 3-point range) across 33 games in 2024-25. She also averaged 2.4 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
