
The Washington Huskies women's basketball team had a strong start to the season. They dominated the Seattle University Redhawks 90-43 on Nov. 3 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
In the preseason Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll, the Huskies were among the top vote-getters for teams that didn't make the poll.
After the win against Seattle U, Washington found itself in the latest edition of the AP Top 25 poll that released Monday.
The Huskies were ranked No. 25 in the latest poll and received 58 votes.
Washington made its first NCAA Tournament under fifth-year head coach Tina Langley last season.
The Huskies finished the season with a 19-14 overall record, including a 9-9 mark in the Big Ten. They were eliminated in the first four of the NCAA Tournament.
Washington had several expectations going into this season. The program landed its best recruit in history, freshman forward Brynn McGaughy, and have multiple all-conference-level players returning in Sayvia Sellers and Elle Ladine.
The Huskies' first game against a Power Four opponent will be against Utah at 1 p.m. PT on Nov. 15 in Salt Lake City.
Washington will have one game before taking on the Utes: a game against the Big Sky's Montana Grizzlies at 6 p.m. PT on Monday at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
