What NFL teams are looking for head coaches for the 2026 season?

As the NFL moves on from the regular season to the playoffs, what’s known as “Black Monday” is officially upon us, aka the day that a lot of head coaches are fired on. The league has several vacancies now with multiple coaches let go already.

Tennessee Titans: Brian Callahan

The Titans were the first team to let go of their head coach this year, firing Brian Callahan back in October. The organization is also reportedly looking to change their front office structure next season. General manager Mike Borgonzi will lead the coaching search.

New York Giants: Brian Daboll

The Giants were the next to follow Tennessee, firing Brian Daboll after a 2-8 start. Daboll was hired by New York in 2022, and it was their only winning season with a 9-7-1 finish. However, they made it all the way to the NFC Championship game that year. Daboll had a 20-40-1 overall record with the Giants.

Atlanta Falcons: Raheem Morris

The Falcons were the first team to make a move once the regular season concluded for them, firing Raheem Morris hours after they won their season finale over the Saints to finish 8-9. They also fired Terry Fontenot

Cleveland Browns: Kevin Stefanski

The Browns let go of Kevin Stefanski after six seasons in Cleveland. The team made the playoffs in his first season where he also won his first Coach of the Year award bringing the Browns to an 11-5 start.

Las Vegas Raiders: Pete Carroll

Carroll came back to the NFL to coach the Raiders, and it was a short-lived return, as Las Vegas fired Carroll on Monday. He led the team to a win in Week 1 over the Patriots, but the team proceeded to lose 14 of their next 15 games. The team will finish with the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Arizona Cardinals: Jonathan Gannon

The Cardinals finished 3-14, marking the end of a three-year tenure for Gannon in Arizona as the team fired him Monday. Gannon never led the Cardinals to a winning season. He will wrap up his time there with a 15-36 overall record. Injuries played a role in his time there, but he could never overcome the obstacles.

Baltimore Ravens: John Harbaugh

John Harbaugh’s time with the Ravens came to an end after 18 seasons when the team fired him on Tuesday. The most winningest coach in team history was let go two days after the team missed the playoffs for the first time since 2021. Harbaugh will leave Baltimore with an 180-113 regular season record, 13-11 in the playoffs, and a win in Super Bowl XLVII. He is excepted to be a top candidate for several openings.

Miami Dolphins: Mike McDaniel

The Dolphins parted ways with Mike McDaniel after a consecutive losing season that culminated in a 7-10 finish. McDaniel became a first-time head coach in 2022 after serving as the run game coordinator and offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. He led Miami to the playoffs in his first two seasons. However, in high leverage seasons, the team would falter. They were 4-17 under McDaniel against teams with a winning record.
