The Bills wide receiver reveals why giving back to the Buffalo community was important to him and his family after joining the Bills.

When the Buffalo Bills acquired DJ Moore this offseason, the focus immediately centered around what he could bring to Josh Allen and the offense.

But before he ever stepped onto the field for a meaningful snap, Moore was already finding ways to make an impact in Buffalo.

Meeting with the media after practice on Thursday, Moore discussed his involvement in the community and why giving back was something that mattered to him and his family.

"One, to show my kids the right way to do things," Moore said. "And then my wife makes me figure out different ways to give back and come up with new ways to be in the community."

For Moore, community involvement is about more than a single appearance or event. Since arriving in Buffalo, he has made an effort to get familiar with the area and connect with people throughout Western New York. That even included buying all of his jersey shirts at a local store for them to give away to fans for free.

"There's more to life," Moore said. "And then we just go around the community, not just in one certain area, but throughout the cities that are around us and give back."

After spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears, Moore is entering a new chapter with the Bills. While adjusting to a new team, new offense, and new city, he has also embraced becoming part of the Buffalo community.

The wide receiver has talked about the transition to Buffalo being a fresh start, and his approach away from football reflects that same mindset. Moore isn't just looking to make an impact on Sundays. He wants to build relationships with the people around him.

The Bills have long emphasized the importance of the Western New York area and the fanbase. Despite being with the team for just a few months, Moore appears to be embracing that opportunity early in his time with the team.

As he works to build chemistry with Josh Allen and his new teammates, Moore is also working to establish himself as someone who wants to be part of the community he now calls home.
