Despite some hoping a reunion could happen, former Buffalo bills All-Pro Stefon Diggs is heading to the NFC East.
You can officially put any hope for a Stefon Diggs reunion with the Buffalo Bills to rest.
First reported by NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the former first-team All-Pro is signing a one-year contract with the Washington Commanders. The contract is worth up to $12 million.
Washington marks Diggs' fourth team in the last four seasons. After spending four seasons with the Bills, where he became an All-Pro, the 32-year-old spent a season each with Houston and New England.
Last season with the Patriots, Diggs caught 85 passes for 1013 yards and four touchdowns. He was released in the spring after the first year of a three-year, $63 million contract.
With Diggs on the market all spring, there was a belief that a reunion in Buffalo could happen. The Bills needed to improve their wide receiver room after a disappointing 2025 season. Though the team traded for DJ Moore, there was an idea that either Keon Coleman or Joshua Palmer could be on the way out, making room for Diggs.
That obviously didn't happen. With Diggs now in Washington, all the potential talk can be put to rest, shifting focus to the players on the roster.
The team has made it clear they have belief in their wide receiver room, expecting major improvements from both Coleman and Palmer in 2026. And, though the first week of training camp, the return on Moore has been strong.
Quarterback Josh Allen and Moore have worked to build chemistry ahead of the regular season and have even connected on some highlight-reel passes during camp.
Allen says that, with Moore, it's not about being perfect with his throws. Instead, it's about just getting the ball in an area where he can make a play.
"Each day that goes by, we're going to continue to get more comfortable with each other," Allen said.
For Moore, it's not just about the on-field connection with his quarterback. It's also about building an off-field connection with the Western New York community.
Right now, it doesn't appear anyone is missing or too upset about not seeing Diggs return to Buffalo.
