Buccaneers' New OC on Egbuka: 'Nothing He Can't Do' cover image

Tampa Bay's new offensive coordinator, Zac Robinson, reveals what makes Emeka Egbuka truly 'unbelievable' -- and a standout talent for the Buccaneers' future.

New Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Zac Robinson is used to working with talented skill-position players.

In Atlanta, he helped Bijan Robinson become one of the league's best running backs, with only Derrick Henry of the Baltimore Ravens joining Bijan on the list of tailbacks who have rushed for more than 1,400 yards in each of the last two seasons.

He also helped Drake London to nearly 1,300 yards receiving in 2024.

After the Falcons fired Raheem Morris and new coach Kevin Stefanski didn't keep Robinson on staff, Robinson agreed to become Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator.

As he did in Atlanta, Zac Robinson will have the chance to work with a talented young running back and receiver in Tampa.

The running back is Bucky Irving, who rushed for 1,112 yards as a rookie in 2024 before injuries limited him to 10 games and 588 yards this season.

The receiver is Emeka Egbuka, who was one of the top offensive rookies in the game this past season, ending with 938 yards and six touchdowns on 63 receptions, good for almost 15 yards per catch.

Egbuka is a finalist for the NFL and Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year, and on Friday he was named to the Pro Football Writers Association's All-Rookie Team, along with teammate and Bucs cornerback Jacob Parrish.

Robinson is quite impressed.

"He's an unbelievable player," Robinson said at his introductory press conference Tuesday.

What makes Egbuka "unbelievable?"

Robinson is a fan of Egbuka's ability to run multiple routes and run after the catch.

Robinson said he's been interested in Egbuka's game dating back to when he was at Ohio State, and remembers scouting him at Ohio State's Pro Day in 2025.

He remembers watching Egbuka catch and showcase his ball skills.

"All those things you just love," Robinson said.

Does Egbuka have any weaknesses?

"I mean, there's really nothing that he can't do," Robinson said. "Obviously, you guys all saw it up close all throughout the year."

For years, the two stars of Tampa Bay's receiving corps have been Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, who are the two leading receivers in franchise history.

Now, Evans is a free agent who could either retire or play somewhere else next season should he not return to the Bucs, and Godwin, although signed through 2027, is going to turn 30 in February and has an extensive injury history that includes torn ACL and MCL in 2021 and a fractured/dislocated ankle just two seasons ago.

Some questioned why the Bucs went after a receiver in the 2025 Draft, but Egbuka is proving to be a quality investment.
