With Tyquan Thornton sidelined by a gruesome injury, Kansas City targets a high-stakes reunion with Tyreek Hill to bolster their receiving corps for a deep championship run.
The Kansas City Chiefs' undefeated season continued in a thrilling 30-27 comeback win over the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.
The Chiefs scored 20 points in the fourth quarter, including two touchdowns in the final five minutes to stun the Raiders at home.
Kenneth Walker III had another monster game, rushing for 177 yards and a pair of scores, including the 22-yard dagger late in the fourth.
Walker had the touchdown right before that also.
Another huge part was WR Tyquan Thornton, who had 5 catches for 111 yards and a pair of scores.
However, Thornton suffered a gruesome looking ankle injury, and the video is tough to watch.
Here was the latest injury status of Thornton on Sunday night.
With Thornton now out for an unforeseen amount of time, one familiar name has been linked to Kansas City: Tyreek Hill.
The former Chiefs and Miami Dolphins WR has been working toward a return after a season-ending injury in 2025, and reports surfaced on Sunday that the Chiefs have even reached out to Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, to discuss a reunion.
Not even two hours before that report from Michael Silver, Hill posted a simple one on X.
"Hm."
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said in the offseason that they would "monitor" Hill's recovery, although a report from the summer also stated that Hill might not play this season at all.
Here was a video of Hill's workout from October 1, and it sure seems he is getting close to a return.
Hill spent the first chunk of his career in Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Eric Bieniemy, so a return to the team would make a lot of sense, especially with the Chiefs need for a WR.
Rashee Rice also suffered an injury on Sunday, although it doesn't seem as serious as was once expected.
Coming into Week 4, Kelce led the team with 14 catches for 231 yards with 2 touchdowns.
Rice and Thornton were second and third in yards, respectively, although Thornton's huge game might've been a sign of things to come.
As reported, Hill is apparently targeting a return in November, and that would be a huge piece to bring in for the final stretch of the season.
Whether or not it happens remains to be seen, but it certainly is an obvious fit for both sides, especially with the support of the locker room and the team's need for a new WR.
