The Indianapolis Colts will be without at least three highly important players as they take on the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts (5-1) stand in the top spot in the AFC currently, as they visit the conference's No. 2 seed, the Los Angeles Chargers (4-2), this weekend for control of that highest seed.

For both sides, their health is a paramount factor. The Colts have already ruled out slot receiver Josh Downs (concussion), special teams ace Ashton Dulin (chest), and top cornerback Charvarius Ward Sr. (concussion).

The Chargers ruled one player out, two as doubtful, with six others as questionable.

Here's how each team's health is shaping up ahead of Sunday afternoon's battle:

    COLTS

    WEDNESDAY

    • Did Not Participate — WR Josh Downs (concussion), WR Ashton Dulin (chest), RB Tyler Goodson (groin), OT Braden Smith (rest), CB Charvarius Ward Sr. (concussion)
    • Limited Participant — CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles)
    • Full Participant — WR Alec Pierce (ankle)

    THURSDAY

    • Did Not Participate — WR Josh Downs (concussion), WR Ashton Dulin (chest), RB Tyler Goodson (groin), DT Grover Stewart (rest), CB Charvarius Ward Sr. (concussion)
    • Limited Participant — CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles)
    • Full Participant — WR Alec Pierce (ankle), OT Braden Smith (rest)

    FRIDAY

    • Did Not Participate — DT DeForest Buckner (rest), WR Josh Downs (concussion), WR Ashton Dulin (chest), LB Zaire Franklin (rest), CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles), CB Charvarius Ward Sr. (concussion)
    • Limited Participant — DE Samson Ebukam (rest), RB Tyler Goodson (groin)
    • Full Participant — WR Alec Pierce (ankle), OT Braden Smith (rest), DT Grover Stewart (rest)

OUT — WR Josh Downs (concussion), WR Ashton Dulin (chest), CB Charvarius Ward Sr. (concussion)

QUESTIONABLE  — RB Tyler Goodson (groin), CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles)

With Downs and Dulin out, it will put AD Mitchell back into the rotation. However, logic says it's likely to be Anthony Gould that gets the majority of the work in the slot in Downs' absence. The Colts will also likely need to call up a receiver from the practice squad. Laquon Treadwell makes sense for the role they'll need.

In Ward's absence, expect to see Mekhi Blackmon and Johnathan Edwards at outside corner, just like last week. Hopefully for Edwards, having an entire week to prepare will be more helpful than finding out you're starting an hour before the game, as was the case when Ward was injured before last Sunday's game.

Although Moore is listed as questionable, Colts head coach Shane Steichen said he should be good to go for Sunday. However, Moore has been out since late in Week 3. We may see a rotation of him and Chris Lammons in the slot.

The Chargers' injuries could be quite costly, as Alt and Pipkins are the two current starting offensive tackles, and Molden, Henley, and Dye are starters in the defensive back seven. Mack is as well but has been on Injured Reserve and could be making his return on Sunday.
