INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts continued their preparation on Thursday for their game this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers, and they remained without two key offensive pieces.
Starting slot receiver Josh Downs (concussion) and rotational receiver/special teams ace Ashton Dulin (chest) sat out of practice for the second consecutive day, which muddies the waters for what the Colts may do at the position on Sunday if neither player can make it.
Here's how each team's health is shaping up ahead of Sunday afternoon's battle:
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
Without Downs or Dulin, the Colts would likely need to make AD Mitchell active, who has been largely phased out over the last two weeks after making some critical errors in the Colts' only loss three weeks ago. Anthony Gould may also need to be used, despite only playing 12 offensive snaps so far this year. On the practice squad, the Colts have slot receiver Coleman Owen and outside receiver Laquon Treadwell. At least one of them would likely get elevated to the active roster for the game if Downs and/or Dulin are out.
Moore continued to practice for the second consecutive day, logging another partial session. He's been out since suffering an Achilles injury late in the Colts' Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans.
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
The statuses of Alt, Dye, Henley, James, Johnston, Mack, Molden, and Pipkins all bear monitoring, as they are starters or significant contributors. The Chargers' injury issues cannot be understated.
The Colts and Chargers play this Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Cal. at 4:05 p.m. E.T. on FOX.
