The Indianapolis Colts have placed top cornerback Charvarius Ward Sr. on Injured Reserve after sustaining his second concussion in the first six weeks of the season. The team made three other corresponding roster moves.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts have placed their top cornerback, Charvarius Ward Sr., on Injured Reserve following his second concussion in the first six weeks of the season.

Ward will now miss at least the next four games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons game is in Berlin, Germany, so the Colts will have their bye week the following week, meaning Ward can return in Week 12 on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In four games this season, Ward has 13 tackles and three pass breakups.

To fill Ward's roster spot, the Colts signed veteran running back Ameer Abdullah to the active roster from the practice squad. The team also called up wide receiver Laquon Treadwell and cornerback Cameron Mitchell from the practice squad to the roster for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

In his 11th year, Abdullah has been active for the last two games for the Colts while he fills in for Tyler Goodson, who suffered a groin injury in Week 4 and has been out since. Abdullah has run the ball three times this year for 13 yards (4.3 avg.) and a touchdown. He also has a catch for nine yards. Along with running back, Abdullah has seen extensive special teams work, playing 20 special teams snaps in the last two weeks.

Mitchell was activated for last week's games against the Arizona Cardinals, playing four snaps on defense and one on special teams. Treadwell has yet to be activated for the Colts this year, but this will be his third game being active with the team since joining in 2024.

The Colts visit the Chargers on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Cal. at 4:05 p.m. E.T. on CBS.
