The Washington Commanders are expected to get a look at another wide receiver projected to go in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft
At last, the Washington Commanders are expected to meet with one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Commanders are expected to host former Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson on a top 30 visit, per Ben Standig, becoming the latest wide receiver as general manager Adam Peters continues to scout the position with several day one or two prospects included. Former Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II became the latest name to surface on Monday, the Commanders had a large contingent of staffers in attendance for Ohio State's Pro Day while former USC star and Biletnikoff winner Makai Lemon was among the prospects who also had a top 30 visit with the front office.
Tyson is among the host of wide receivers expected to come off the board in the first round alongside Carnell Tate, Lemon and Denzel Boston, who Washington also met with. Yet the former Sun devil star has plenty to like with Washington looking at another from Jayden Daniels's alma mater.
After initially starting his career at Colorado, Tyson posted 22 catches for 470 yards and four touchdowns as a true freshman before entering the transfer portal. Yet his transfer to Arizona State would start on the sideline after recovering from a torn ACL, MCL and PCL suffered from his time at Colorado. Tyson would put it behind him, though, after posting 1,101 yards and ten touchdowns on 75 catches - all career highs - in 2024. In nine games in 2025, Tyson posted 711 yards and eight touchdowns on 61 catches where he was named an All-Big 12 selection along with a third team AP All American selection.
After ending his college career having not played an entire season, injuries have been the question mark for Tyson with reports that some teams have questions about his medicals ahead of the draft. Yet the 6-foot-2 prospect proved himself as a big play threat after ranking inside the top 20 nationally among FBS players in catches over both ten and 20 yards in 2024.
The latest top 30 visit falls in line with the expectation that the Commanders are expected to address both cornerback and wide receiver with its pair of top-100 selections, addressing arguably the biggest remaining needs this offseason. Center has also drawn increased attention after moving on from Tyler Biadasz and missing on Tyler Linderbaum in free agency, now entering the rest f the offseason with a thinned unit now appeared to be headlined by Nick Allegretti following his offseason extension.
