The Cowboys have missed the playoffs the past two seasons, and Lamb wants that to end in 2026.

The Dallas Cowboys have missed the playoffs in the last two seasons, with the franchise going 14-19-1 during that span.

Having won no more than seven games isn't acceptable for a franchise like the Cowboys, and with a defensive overhaul under Christian Parker and the offense retaining all its weapons, there is confidence Dallas can return to the postseason.

But to do that, Dallas has to be consistent in 2026, something that has been hard to come by in the past two years, with the Cowboys being up-and-down on the field.

However, the vibe is different this offseason. Players were signed in free agency; there's no drama; there are upgrades at several positions on defense; it all points to a better output from Dallas.

And for All-Pro CeeDee Lamb, he's had enough of not playing playoff football.

He wants it bad in 2026.

"Yeah, I don't really like going home that early, unfortunately," Lamb said. "I love playoffs, love the big games. I want a chance at the tournament. And overall, us as an offense, I want us to proclaim dominance. I want us to be who we think we are, and overall only so many words could be said, and I'm very wanting to put it into action."

And the long road to achieving that goal begins at MetLife Stadium against the New York Giants, who will be up for the fight as the John Harbaugh era begins.

The Cowboys have to be wary of an early knockout punch from the Giants, who will be up for this game in front of their home crowd.

Lamb spoke of the need to start fast.

Whether that be a quick three-and-out from Parker's defense or Dak Prescott and Co. march down the field for an opening drive touchdown, Dallas has to calm things down because it could be walking into a buzzsaw.

Lamb wants more playoff football, and you can argue that against the Giants, it will have a playoff feel to it, given it's the start of the new season.

How the Cowboys handle this moment could tell us a lot about who they could be in 2026.

And perhaps more importantly, how they fare in a playoff-like environment.
