Rumors swirled after the Dallas quarterback surfaced at a Fort Worth rodeo with his ex-fiancee's friend, forcing the star to clarify his status amid a high-profile breakup.
FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is denying that he's followed up his breakup with ex-fiancee Sarah Jane Ramos by dating one of the women who was scheduled to be a bridesmaid at their cancelled wedding.
Prescott attended the Pro Bull Riders event in Fort Worth on Friday, and it seems that Caitlin Rance -- a friend of Dak and Sarah Jane's - was also in attendance.
TMZ is suggesting that Prescott and Rance "looked (like) a little more than just friends'' ... and then contacted Rance to quiz her about their relationship.
Writes TMZ indicated that Prescott was seen at a Pro Bull Riders event in Fort Worth,: "e called Caitlin to ask if there's any truth to the dating rumors -- and she actually handed the phone over to Dak!
He told us they're not dating ... the two have been friends for years, and there's nothing going on between them -- end of story.''
It seems that the friendship between the two goes back to their time at Mississippi State.
Ramos may not be completely buying the explanation, however. Her reaction? While it's possible it's just a coincidence, she posted the Drake song "Firm Friends,'' which is about betrayal and faded relationships.
Prescott and Ramos ended their romance this past spring before their planned wedding.
The couple had been preparing for a destination ceremony in Italy, but multiple reports say that the relationship had been experiencing tension behind the scenes for several months.
That tension reportedly escalated during a recent joint bachelor and bachelorette celebration in the Bahamas, where an argument ultimately led to the wedding being called off.
Prescott and Ramos first made their relationship public in 2023, and the Cowboys quarterback proposed in October 2024, setting the stage for what appeared to be a high-profile wedding.
Instead, the pair are now shifting their focus to family responsibilities.
Prescott and Ramos plan to prioritize co-parenting their two young children.
While the news represents a personal challenge for Prescott, the Cowboys star, who will turn 33 this summer, remains the centerpiece player for the franchise.
Prescott has consistently been one of the NFL’s most productive quarterbacks when healthy, but maybe in part because he's paid an NFL-record $60 million per year to serve as the leader and face of "America's Team,'' he is also a lightning rod for criticism and for attention ... as this story re-establishes.
