The Cowboys have done a lot of moving and shaking this offseason, and while some haven't liked the moves, others have.
The Dallas Cowboys always divide opinion, so when it comes to the franchise's offseason moves, naturally, people are split.
Some aren't sold on the Christian Parker hiring and the pressure put on Caleb Downs to be "the" guy on defense, or the impact players like Jalen Thompson, Cobie Durant, or Rashan Gary can make.
Others liked the moves, as they presented a considerable change of approach from how Dallas usually conducts its offseason business.
Oh, and you can't forget the early contracts, with Javonte Williams and Brandon Aubrey signed efficiently, and you can make the case for George Pickens too.
Plus, the franchise traded away Osa Odighizuwa, a move that some didn't like, so that is a lot of change to wrap your head around, and in truth, the level of change needed to happen after last year's horror show from Matt Eberflus' unit.
So, how do we grade what the Cowboys in totality, have done?
We have seen some NFL media give the Cowboys a C, others a B, meaning good but not great.
And then we have NFL.com's Matt Okada, who has given the Cowboys an A- grade.
The "standout" moves for Okada were trading for Gary and Dee Winters, drafting Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence, and then the contract signings of Williams and the franchise tagging of Pickens.
Now, it is easy to think that all of the Cowboys' moves this offseason will hit, but the law of averages tells us not all will be who we think they can/will be.
Roughly 10 new players are set to be starting or be rotational pieces for Parker's defense, so that is a lot of change.
But as we turn for Oxnard and training camp in roughly four weeks, the hope and optimism from Cowboys Nation is flowing. Why? Because the franchise has moved differently this offseason.
Now, time will tell if the moves work, but you have to at least give Dallas credit for changing it up...finally.
Yes, getting an A- grade for your offseason work is fine, but fans want A+ production from those new faces to kickstart what many hope will be a deep playoff run in 2026.
Time to see if we get it.
