The Cowboys have added over 10 new players on defense, but there is one player who many think this unit needs to be complete.
The Dallas Cowboys' defense under Christian Parker has done a lot of moving and shaking this offseason, bringing in a host of new faces.
Rashan Gary, Dee Winters, Cobie Durant, Jalen Thompson, PJ Locke, while Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence were drafted, the defense will look vastly different from the one that took the field last year.
For some, there are still a couple of roster positions that need reinforcing.
One is edge, as the Cowboys don't have a bona fide stud pass rusher. The other is linebacker.
DeMarvion Overshown and Dee Winters are the two at the top of the depth chart, and it is here where some want the Cowboys to add a stud veteran to bring everything together.
We know of the type of defenses Parker has been involved in during his career with the Eagles and Broncos. We also know how the Seattle Seahawks' defense under Mike Macdonald tore offenses apart in 2025.
So, what do the Cowboys have to do to get closer to those types of defenses under Macdonald and Vic Fangio?
For analyst Mina Kimes, one player can get Dallas there, and it's one we've spoken about at length this entire offseason.
"When I look at this and I ask, what would it take for this defense to get closer to those? If you dropped in a Jordyn Brooks or really great linebacker, and then I would look at Quinnen Williams, the defensive tackles are strong, similar to Seattle and Philadelphia, Kimes said.
"Who, by the way, don't have like Myles Garrett's either, linebacker, nickel. Then you're like, oh, this looks like that. I feel good about this. It's just missing that one player."

That is the move that, for Kimes, would solidify the defense and give the Cowboys and Parker a genuine quarterback on defense.
The 28-year-old is coming off a career-best season in Miami, posting 183 combined tackles, 3.5 sacks, four quarterback hits, and 13 tackles for loss.
With Brooks' ability to play sideline-to-sideline, while being a heat-seeking missile in stopping the run, plus with his tackle numbers so high, you know once he gets his hands on you as a runner, it's over.
That sort of player has been missing from the Cowboys' defense for years.
So for all the adulation Dallas has gotten for its offseason work, there is still one more move that needs to be made for Kimes.
