The Dallas and Crosby links just won't go away, but what has to go are silly trade proposals.

The Dallas Cowboys and Maxx Crosby trade rumors just aren't going away, are they?

In truth, they likely won't until the trade deadline passes on November 10, and that means speculation is rife about what the Cowboys could potentially give up to land Maxx.

We have seen some suggest that George Pickens and a first-round pick could get it done; others think just draft picks.

Everyone has an idea as to what they think Dallas could use to lure Crosby from the Raiders and to The Star. But if it is me, I am not giving up a standout player, let alone someone like Pickens.

A sweetener? Sure. A player? Sure.

But not superstar-for-superstar.

With the Cowboys restructuring the contracts of several players over the weekend, which now leaves the franchise with over $30 million in cap space, fans and media have gone into overdrive, thinking a deal could be forthcoming.

And as our Mike Fisher has said, "They didn't create $19 million in new cap room for nothing, so dream away!''

But ...

Back to the trade proposals. Bleacher Report has one that is just silly: Rashan Gary and two first-round picks. Yeah, you read that right.

Let's go through it shall we?

First of all, that is more than what the Baltimore Ravens initially offered to land Crosby back in March. Why on earth would Dallas not only match the first-round picks but also throw in a player who is expected to lead the Cowboys in sacks?

Madness, I tell you.

Secondly, why would Dallas part ways with a player it had just acquired this offseason, and one head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, speaks so glowingly about him as both a person and a leader of the locker room?

Again, madness.

Most of us know that the Cowboys aren't going to be parting ways with two first-round picks PLUS a player for Crosby, not after the Ravens' undoing of their deal, which was caused by some lingering questions about Crosby's knee..

A first-round pick for Maxx? Sure, and maybe another conditional pick thrown in there as well. Oh, and a body.

But there is no way, to me, Dallas will offer up more than what Baltimore did for acquire Crosby.

So "dream away,'' yes. But let's also see if Dallas can "win the trade'' in the process.
