The Cowboys are facing a 0-2 start at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.
The Dallas Cowboys will welcome the Washington Commanders to AT&T Stadium in Week 2 as Brian Schottenheimer's team tries to avoid a nightmare 0-2 start.
After being easily beaten by the New York Giants, the Cowboys are under pressure, especially on defense, to show that last week isn't who they'll be going forward.
Then the GOTI offense was anything but, and although they did score touchdowns on the only two second-half possessions, both were heavily aided by penalties.
So there is a lot of room for improvement on both sides of the ball, and this Washington team pushed Philadelphia to the brink in Week 1 on the road.
Jayden Daniels offers a huge threat as a runner, more so than Jaxson Dart, who had his way with 54 rushing yards on 11 carries. Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin loom as two weapons that Christian Parker and his unit must shut down.
And defensively, with ties to Brian Flores, who has given Dak Prescott and Co. nightmares, Daronte Jones and his unit have the capacity to make life incredibly tough for Brian Schottenheimer's offense.
All of the pressure is on the Cowboys, who came into this season with about as much hope and optimism as I can remember. Only for that to be sucked out of Cowboys Nation two quarters into the new year.
But Sunday provides Dallas with a chance to show that last week was an outlier and that what we see going forward is the norm.
No more communication breakdowns, no more silly penalties and please, stop the run.
All eyes will be on Parker and his defense against Washington as we look for anything positive to cling to in what is shaping up as a must-win game for the Cowboys.
