You will be hard-pressed to find a player in the NFL who is more maligned than Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
Some think Dak is a top-10-ish quarterback. Others think he just plain sucks.
There's no in between, and Prescott has been dealing with that his entire career.
Yes, we are well aware of the playoff failings of the Cowboys and Dak, but let's not diminish what Prescott has done in the regular season, either.
Granted, that isn't how quarterbacks are judged in the NFL. They are judged by playoff wins and Super Bowls.
The fact that Prescott hasn't even been to an NFC Championship game, let alone a Super Bowl, is the one thing they use to drag him down. And it makes sense.
What doesn't is the idea that Dak isn't a good quarterback.
The 2025 season that earned him a Pro Bowl nod after 4,552 passing yards, 30 TDs, and 10 interceptions is proof of Dak's talents.
And now here comes former NFL receiver and two-time All-Pro Chad Johnson (Ochocinco), who was speaking with DLLS Cowboys, with his thoughts on Prescott.
"When we talk about some of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, Dak's name should be mentioned," Ochocinco said. "Every time you talk about quarterbacks and having a chance and always being in contention, Dak is in the conversation.
"Every year, the Cowboys will have a chance to contend for a title. Now there's problems on the defensive side of the ball, now once you address that, it makes the job easy."
Now, for the most part, Ochocinco is right, but the Cowboys don't really have the chance to contend for a title every year, but they are there and thereabouts most years.
Mostly because of No. 4.
Chad is right that if the defense, under Christian Parker, improves, it will make Dak's job a lot easier. He won't have to score 30 points every week to win.
Granted, scoring so freely is what all offenses hope to do, but if the Cowboys can win games scoring 20 or 24 points instead of having to be perfect, yeah, they'll be a problem in 2026.
And a big reason why Dallas could be a problem is that they have a Pro-Bowl quarterback who is in the prime of his career, orchestrating it all.
