Flournoy has an opportunity to establish himself among the Cowboys' offense in 2026, and his coach is all-in on his talents.
Of all the Dallas Cowboys players who will capture the attention in Oxnard when training camp begins, I've got my eye on receiver Ryan Flournoy.
And if you play "Fantasy Football,'' maybe you should do the same.
After a 2025 season that saw Flournoy flourish in his limited snaps, often connecting with Dak Prescott on crucial third downs to keep the chains moving, it was evident that Flo was going to be part of the offense long-term.
This offseason, he's been thrust into the WR3 role, behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and no one can say he doesn't deserve it.
Our own Mike Fisher stated that Flournoy has looked like a "real football player with a set role'' so far at practice. Not one who is still trying to find his feet.
And entering Year 3 with a big opportunity, head coach Brian Schottenheimer has already noticed a big difference in Flournoy.
"He came back with just a really strong intent for what he wanted to get done' Schottenheimer added. "He looks great. He's moving great. His routes, I think, have gotten better. I mean, here's a guy from a small school that's come in and really adapted to the way we teach.
"I really think the sky's the limit for him, and he's definitely a guy that we see finding ways to get him the ball."
Last season really saw Flournoy announce himself.
A rookie season that produced just 10 receptions for 102 yards, Flournoy posted 475 yards and 4 TDs from 40 receptions in 2025, which included two 100-yard games.
So, the progress was noticeable even last season, but as Schottenheimer states, Ryan already felt like he belonged among the elite weapons the Cowboys already had.
"The confidence is different than it was, not even obviously when he was a rook, but even last year early on, I think he was not in awe of CeeDee and George, but you saw him, okay, I know I fit in," Schottenheimer said.
"But then having the success that he had against the Jets, the Lions, and you just saw him really take that step, I'd say about middle of the season last year."
Now he's been rewarded with a bigger role on offense, and one that many think he'll be able to do and do well.
Granted, don't expect 70+ yard games every week; that's the job of Lamb and of Pickens. But as a receiver who you might take in later rounds in your Fantasy Football draft?
Yes, expect him to make plays when the ball is going in his direction, much like last season. ... and in this offense, there should be plenty of balls to go around.
Will there be ups and downs? Sure, but Flo has worked hard for this opportunity, and I'd imagine its one he'll take with both hands in 2026.
