The Dallas Cowboys will have several roster decisions to make in the coming days, with the New York Giants and the season finale approaching.
Yes, Dak Prescott is the big one, but I want to pivot to the running back room.
Javonte Williams was a DNP on Wednesday with a shoulder/neck issue that has plagued him for weeks, and Malik Davis was also a DNP with a calf/eye problem.
That means the running back room is a little thin on bodies right now.
But fear not, there are a couple of levers the Cowboys can pull here.
The obvious one is rookie Jaydon Blue.
Not having the best season both on and off the field, with Williams and Davis banged up, this is the ideal time to let Blue have a full game to show the progress he has made.
With lightning quick feet, and the speed to scary defenses, not to mention his ability as a pass-catcher, Blue does have a lot to offer.
But whether or not he is at the stage in his development where he can be relied upon is another thing entirely.
But that takes care of one running back issue. However, there is still one more to figure out if both Javonte and Malik don't play.
And Cowboys writer Patrik Walker put this on the agenda on X, suggesting that Phil Mafah should be activated and partner with Blue in the backfield.
Sign me up, folks.

Both Blue and Mafah made waves in the offseason, but Jaydon has struggled with consistency in his practice habits, and Mafah has been injured after showcasing his brutal and powerful running style.
Is he healthy enough to play?

Having had his 21-day window activated a couple of weeks ago, you could make the case that Phil might be good for 20+ total snaps.
There wouldn't be much to get excited about in Dallas' meaningless Week 18 game in New York.
But having Blue and Mafah as a running back tandem would be something worth watching.
