Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens was as advertised in 2025 as he earned the first Pro Bowl nod of his career.
Posting 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns from 93 receptions, George was a walking highlight reel for most of the season.
Yes, he had a few bumps in the road, but looking at the big picture, he was superb for the Cowboys.
But now comes the business side of the NFL - Pickens' proposed new contract.
Being a free agent, we have stated numerous times that Dallas will likely use the franchise tag on Pickens as it is the "easy" thing to do. Plus, it gives the Cowboys more time to further evaluate No. 3.
Given his chemistry with George, will Dak Prescott get in Jerry Jones' ear to push along negotiations to make sure Pickens is a Cowboy in 2026?
"I don't know if it's necessarily time demanding at this point, Jerry knows that," Prescott said. "Jerry knows how I feel. He knows how the organization feels about George. So I think Jerry knows the importance of keeping a guy like that.
"Talking about leading the league in passing or having a chance to do that or talking about how good this offense was this year, I mean that guy was a huge part of that. So, I think that speaks for itself."
Dak is right.
The Cowboys had one of the best offenses in football. Averaging 27.7 points per game, Prescott threw for 4, 552 yards and 30 touchdowns. Pickens was a huge part of that.
So there won't be a hard sell from George to Dallas. His season, as Dak says, speaks for itself.
Plus, if the Cowboys aren't willing to pay top dollar to Pickens, there will be a host of teams that will in a heartbeat.
With the offense set if Pickens and Javonte Williams re-sign, the 2026 season could be another prolific one for Brian Schottenheimer's offense.
Everyone in football knows what should be done with George. But in this case, one opinion matters above all.
And that's Jerry's.
