Former Miami Dolphins veteran wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has signed a deal with the Indianapolis Colts.
ESPN's Adam Schefter shared the news via X.
Westbrook-Ikhine spent one season in Miami after spending the first four seasons of his career as a member of the Tennessee Titans.
The Dolphins signed Westbrook-Ikhine last March to a two-year, $6.5 million contract.
The 28-year-old played in 15 games for the Dolphins with three starts. In those games, Westbrook-Ikhine tallied only 11 receptions on 20 targets for 89 yards and zero touchdowns. He averaged 8.9 yards per reception and had a 40 percent receiving success rate.
It was his first season since his rookie year in which he failed to record a touchdown and failed to reach triple-digit receiving yards.
After a dreadful 2025 season, the Dolphins decided to cut ties with Westbrook-Ikhine. Miami released him a week after Super Bowl 60.
The Florida native has been solid in his five-year NFL career. In 93 career games, the former undrafted free agent has tallied 137 receptions for 1,862 yards – for an average of 13.6 yards per reception – and 19 touchdowns.
Before going undrafted, Westbrook-Ikhine attended Indiana University. He played five seasons there 2015-19. In his college career, he recorded 144 receptions for 2,226 yards and 16 touchdowns across 51 games played.
Westbrook-Ikhine became the seventh Hoosier to reach 125 receptions and 2,000 yards in his career, and had six 100-yard receiving games as a Hoosier.
The Dolphins cut Westbrook-Ikhine as well as offensive lineman James Daniels and All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill in mid-February.
Miami is in desperate need of another wide receiver, as their room looks mighty thin. According to Ourlads.com, the Dolphins' wide receiver room consists of Malik Washington, Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, and Tahj Washington.
Those pass catchers don't exactly put the fear into opposing offenses, but they will have the opportunity to improve that area in the draft. In Mel Kiper Jr.'s latest mock draft, he has Miami adding Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson.
"I originally had right tackle Francis Mauigoa (Miami) here; Austin Jackson has played 14 games combined over the past two seasons, and Larry Borom is off to Detroit. There's a hole on the right side of the O-line. But ... then the Dolphins traded Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos, forcing me to tweak a few picks. Malik Washington and new addition Jalen Tolbert are the top two receivers in Miami right now. That isn't a great setup for Malik Willis, whom the team just signed for $67.5 million over three years.
"Tyson is almost always available to the football, making tough plays in tight coverage. If not for some durability concerns,Tyson would probably be the top receiver in the class. Miami would need him to contribute in a big way as a rookie."
