With the season slipping away and Jalen Hurts sidelined, Philadelphia prepares to stockpile draft capital by dangling stars like Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert as trade bait.

The Philadelphia Eagles appear to be heading toward a potential fire sale before the trade deadline on Nov. 10 after losing a fifth consecutive game.

The Eagles were badly outplayed at home by the Dallas Cowboys on "Monday Night Football." With backup quarterback Tanner McKee making the start with Jalen Hurts out for the season, the offense wasn't expected to light it up against Dallas, but the defense played poorly as well in a 38-21 loss.

Sitting at 2-5 without the possibility of Hurts returning, the Eagles could cut bait on the season and load up on picks that can help Philadelphia quickly reload.

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated named four players that would likely be at the top of the list for the Eagles to trade. He noted Dallas Goedert, Tariq Woolen, and Hollywood Brown are on contract years, which would be ideal for Philadelphia to get draft compensation before going into the offseason. He also named Saquon Barkley as an "attractive" option for the Eagles.

In recent months, the Eagles added a 2028 first-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick via the trades of A.J. Brown and Cam Jurgens.

Philadelphia is armed with picks that they can use in the 2027 and 2028 drafts, or they could use them to bring in players that will help for next season.

One of the benefits of the Eagles dropping out of the playoff race so early in the season is that they can immediately strategize for a fast rebuild.

With that being said, Philadelphia has two questions at two of the more important positions on the team: the quarterback and head coach.

The Eagles could move on from Hurts before the 2027 season. There's chatter in league circles that head coach Nick Sirianni is on the hot seat amid the five-game losing streak, which is pretty incredible, given he has one Super Bowl under his belt and has made another appearance.

Not to mention, Sirianni is without his quarterback, and the Eagles have dealt with serious injury issues all season. It’s an impossible situation for Sirianni to manage this season.

The abundance of draft picks would make the Eagles an attractive destination for any would-be head coach. The Eagles have a couple of weeks to make decisions on several key players on their roster. With the Indianapolis Colts starting a fire sale on Tuesday, Philadelphia could make its decision soon.
