Other teams are worried about the Atlanta Falcons.
The Atlanta Falcons are on a little bit of a winning streak, and they are starting to make some waves across the rest of football as it relates to what this era of the franchise could be.
When Atlanta turned the page on the entire administration after the 2025 season including the coaching staff and front office, one of the most exciting things they did was bring in franchise legend Matt Ryan as the President of Football to take on a prominent role at the helm.
Along with general manager Ian Cunningham, Ryan has been a key voice in the new front office and new overall administration. As the vision begins to come together following a rough first two weeks for the team, folks around the league are starting to see it now. During an episode this week of Pro Football Talk Live, NFL insider Mike Florio says what he is hearing from other coaches is that there is a legitimate fear of what Ryan could build with the organization he once was a star on the field for.
Florio Says Belief Around League is Ryan Could Be Star Executive for Falcons
Florio compared Ryan's executive status to that of Tom Brady with the Las Vegas Raiders, and made the point that while Brady has seemingly a million other celebrity things going on in his life and on his daily calendar. Ryan on the other hand is not doing anything else, no television engagements, calling games, pregame shows, other media or anything that is not learning how to be the best front office man he can be and making the Falcons better.
When a competitor of this level goes all in on something, it's dangerous for those who have to go up against him, and Ryan is absolutely all in on making this work. Clearly, that fact has others around the league concerned, and Florio's information makes it sound like it's more than just one rival team.
Fans in Atlanta hope this fears prove to be founded in reality, because if Ryan can do for this team in the front office what he was able to do on the field, this could be a very special partnership. Perhaps one day he can do what he came so close to doing as a player and bring this franchise its first ever Super Bowl title to the city of Atlanta.
