Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman spoke about whether the team will look to trade their talented receiver embroiled in drama.
The Philadelphia Eagles fell short of goals to repeat as Super Bowl champions this season, though the team just didn’t look the same as that defending squad. Namely, the offense was lackluster and showed the loss of New Orleans Saints coach Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator. But individual players also didn’t perform to their best standards throughout the year. It would be one thing if that was all limited to on-field stuff, but when it comes to wide receiver A.J. Brown, a lot of the chaos transpired off the field with distractions.
Naturally, it’s led to questions of how long Brown’s future with the Eagles is, and whether they may look to trade the star receiver this offseason. General manager Howie Roseman spoke with reporters Thursday with coach Nick Sirianni for his end-of-season press conference and pointed to Brown’s talent that is hard to come by. “I think that when you're trying to be a great team, it's hard to trade great players, and A.J. Brown is a great player," Roseman said.

The last impression of Brown for fans this season is a heated exchange with Sirianni during Philadelphia’s Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Brown also tied a career-high two drops in the game, declining to speak after. Sirianni both defended and downplayed that alongside Roseman on Thursday. Brown has been an Eagle since 2022, but it just wasn’t clicking this season with quarterback Jalen Hurts. The question is whether that’s worth running back with the drama despite his inarguable talent.
