The New York Jets will be facing off against a short-handed Chicago Bears team on Sunday.

The New York Jets are getting ready for their Week 4 matchup with the Chicago Bears, as the team looks to even its record at 2-2.

New York dropped a heartbreaker to the Detroit Lions a week ago, but the group is feeling very confident heading into the game against Chicago. While the Jets are 1-2 on the season, they could easily be 3-0, giving this team hope for the remainder of the year.

But ahead of the game with the Bears, New York now knows who will be taking the field against them. Chicago released its most recent injury report, ruling out five players for the game against the Jets.

Among the players ruled out was starting quarterback Caleb Williams, who suffered a hamstring injury weeks ago. Additionally, defensive lineman Shemar Turner (knee), linebacker Noah Sewell (Achilles), defensive back Kyler Gordon (calf), and offensive lineman Braxton Jones (knee) were also ruled out for the game.

With Williams out of the game, the Bears will likely face off against backup Tyson Bagent. But the team could play veteran Case Keenum as well, and he did just put on a show against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

The Bears have said that they won't announce who the starter will be until right before the game. This means that the Jets will have to scheme against both players, being ready for whatever Chicago throws at them.

Chicago does have an explosive offensive attack, even without Williams leading the charge. New York will need to make sure that they can pressure whoever is under center for the Bears, making life as tough as possible,

But the Jets offense has been decent this season as well, with quarterback Geno Smith playing well. Smith has yet to throw an interception this season after seeing a heavy, turnover-filled year with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025.

For the season, Smith has thrown for 783 yards with four touchdowns. Smith has looked very comfortable in the Jets' passing attack, commanding the offense in a strong way thus far.

But this week will be another test for him against an opportunistic Bears defense that found some confidence last week. If Smith can limit the turnovers once again, the Jets may be able to steal this game from the Bears

All New York can do is control what they can control, which is themselves in this game. The Jets have been much more competitive this season, and they will be looking to earn another road win this year.
