Breece Hall and Kenyon Sadiq are injured, but the New York Jets expect both to play in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.
New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters on Monday (8/24) that he expects Breece Hall and Kenyon Sadiq to play in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.
Hall is dealing with a groin injury, while Sadiq is recovering from hernia surgery.
The Jets signed Hall to a three-year, $45.75 million extension in May. Hall had 1,065 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 350 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown last season.
Hall has 18 rushing touchdowns and nine receiving touchdowns with the Jets, who went 3-14 last season in Year 1 of the Glenn era. A talented playmaker, Hall enters this season with 3,398 rushing yards and 1,642 receiving yards in his career.
Bleacher Report's scouting department ranked Hall the 11th-best RB in the NFL. He's one spot ahead of Travis Etienne of the New Orleans Saints and one spot behind Kenneth Walker III of the Kansas City Chiefs.
"2025 was Breece Hall's first 1,000 rushing season of his career," Bleacher Report wrote. "After tearing his ACL in 2022, he's bounced back and looks like his best football is ahead. Hall is great at patiently setting up his blocks and using that explosive burst through the lane to slash through the teeth of the defense. He's a difference-maker as a receiver out of the backfield in the passing game. The Jets aren't known as a diamond mine of offensive talent, but Hall is clearly a diamond in the rough."
The Jets took Sadiq with the 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft out of Oregon. For Oregon in 2025, Sadiq had 51 receptions for 560 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns. He finished his college career with 80 receptions for 892 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns in 42 games.
Sadiq was named a second-team All-American and the Big Ten TE of the Year and was a finalist for the John Mackey Award, which goes to the nation's top tight end.
Last season, the Jets became the first team in NFL history to not record a defensive interception and lose five straight games by 23 or more points within a single season.
It will be intriguing to see how New York does in Year 2 of the Glenn era.
The Jets acquired Geno Smith from the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. Smith is in his second stint with Gang Green. The veteran QB enters this season with 22,168 passing yards, 124 passing touchdowns and 89 career interceptions in the NFL. His starting record is 42-56-0.
