New York Giants' Linked to Highly-Touted OC For 2026 Season cover image

The New York Giants would be a perfect destination for this potential offensive coordinator candidate.

After a season filled with ups and downs, the New York Giants are now set for a huge offseason under the guidance of general manager Joe Schoen.

The Giants' first move this offseason set major waves throughout the entire NFL, as the front office ultimately decided to hire former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to replace Brian Daboll.

In his last 18 years with the organization, Harbaugh won over 190 games and one Super Bowl, making the move an excellent hire for a young, developing roster.

In addition to landing Harbaugh, the well-respected coach brought in former Tennessee Titans’ defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson to take over the defense. However, the one position that continues to be a main talking point amongst the fanbase is who will take over the offensive coordinator role in 2026.

While Harbaugh managed to poach some of his staff from the Ravens, he was unable to bring his former offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, who recently accepted an offer to be the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns.

Luckily, Washington Commanders' former playcaller, Kliff Kingsbury, could be the next-best option for Harbaugh and the Giants.

Why Kingsbury is the Right Choice

Kingsbury, after spending six years as a professional football player, began his coaching career in 2008 with the Houston Cougars as the team’s offensive quality control coach. From there, Kingsbury worked his way up to the offensive coordinator position in 2011.

His time with the Cougars would be short-lived, as he would become the offensive coordinator for the Texas A&M Aggies. This would be one of his most notable coaching stints due to his help in developing quarterback Johnny Manziel.

With his success coaching the explosive Aggies’ offense, Kingbury would become the head coach for the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Arizona Cardinals. During his time in Arizona, the young coach had a huge impact on quarterback Kyler Murray’s success, cementing himself as someone who can help develop quarterbacks.

His ability to work with young playmakers on offense makes him an excellent choice for the Giants, who desperately need proper coaching for rising second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart.

The 2025 first-round pick showed plenty of promise throughout his rookie season, but in order for him to solidify himself as a true franchise quarterback, an experienced playcaller like Kingsbury could dramatically help his career.
