The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to 0-3 after a horrific loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings are now 3-0 and have proved that they have one of the best defenses in the entire country.
That said, the Bucs have an offensive line problem, one that is eerily similar to what's going on with the Green Bay Packers.
On what could've been the final Tampa Bay snap of the game, Mayfield was scrambling until he was finally brought down. He was screaming in pain, holding his thumb, the same thumb that he may have hurt earlier in the game.
Ultimately, head coach Todd Bowles revealed that it's an injury that will keep him out for the next three weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Obviously, that includes the team's Week 4 showdown at Raymond James Stadium when the 1-2 Packers come to town.
Mayfield was sacked six times vs. Vikings
There aren't many quarterbacks in the league who have taken a beating quite like Mayfield this season. He's out the next three weeks, and now this Buccaneers offensive line is stuck protecting an undrafted rookie.
Jalon Daniels entered the game and was 0/3 as he had no choice but to throw the ball downfield in the final seconds with his team down seven points.
The Vikings prevailed, 23-16, in a game that saw Daniels run the ball for nine yards on one carry. He originally thought it was a first down, but replay assist overturned the call.
All of that said, Daniels is far more mobile than Mayfield; it's just a matter of how quickly this Packers defensive front can win the battle against a horrendous Bucs' offensive line.
Packers defense can't mess around
New defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon has been quite aggressive this season, and that's the same strategy he needs to bring to the Sunshine State on Sunday, Oct. 4.
Daniels got his first taste of NFL action, but it was only for the final minute of a game that already felt out of reach.
The 23-year-old balled out at Kansas last season, and it's worth noting he was in college from 2020-25.
Daniels, a former sixth-year senior, threw for 9,282 career yards. He was a rarity in college sports as he spent all six years with the Jayhawks, throwing 67 career touchdowns to 31 interceptions.
Mayfield was far from great this season, but that O-Line had a huge part to do with it, as seen in the struggles Jordan Love is going through in Green Bay.
