The Green Bay Packers jumped up in a new power rankings after taking down the Bears this week.
The Green Bay Packers seemed to find a ton of life this past weekend against the Chicago Bears, with the team looking like the group many expected them to be.
After a slow start to the season, the Packers finally put together a solid performance against their rivals, getting a big win. Green Bay was able to dominate from the opening kickoff, sending the Bears home on a sour note.
Due to this performance, the Packers heavily rose up in a new NFL Power Rankings from ESPN. Green Bay entered the game ranked at No. 23, but after taking down Chicago, the team moved up to No. 14.
The Packers understand that this is just one game, but it had to feel good for the players on the field. Green Bay has now won two straight games, sitting with a record of 3-2 for the year.
The offense for the Packers came to life against Chicago, with quarterback Jordan Love firing the ball down the field with ease. The fans at Lambeau Field were able to witness what the team was supposed to look like, with Green Bay having Super Bowl aspirations this season.
Green Bay was able to protect Love during the game, allowing him time to pick apart the Bears defense. Now, the Packers can take this win to build more momentum as the season moves forward.
But the Packers are still dealing with some tough injuries on the defensive side of the ball, with the team losing both Edgerrin Cooper and Javon Hargrave to season-ending issues. Green Bay is also still without star pass rusher Micah Parsons, as he works his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered a year ago.
The Packers will have to figure out how to navigate the injuries on defense, giving this team a legitimate chance to win this season. But for now, Green Bay will be happy with the win over Chicago, using it to help build toward the rest of the year.
Green Bay will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys this weekend at home, with the teams playing on Sunday Night Football. This will give the Packers an opportunity to grab another win, playing a team that has seen its own share of problems this season.
Dallas will be coming into the game with a record of 2-3 on the new season, having lost last week. The game will take place at 5:20 p.m. PT/8:20 p.m. ET from Lambeau Field.
