Former Wisconsin Badgers offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler has been in the NFL for quite some time, and now he may finally get a chance to play for his home team.
The Waukesha, WI, native was the No. 27 overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals back in 2012. He's been around the block, to say the least, but that doesn't mean he's not as skilled as it comes.
Zeitler may be 36 years old, but at this point, bringing in a veteran would be a huge boost to this Packers offensive line.
Remember, the Packers just signed Laken Tomlinson and Mekhi Becton, but that doesn't mean their o-line is fixed just because of those two additions.
Zeitler would set the team back a pretty penny
According to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Silverstein, this is a move that could set the Packers back roughly $6-8 million.
Obviously, that's not a huge price to pay if he's able to protect Jordan Love, someone who comes with a monstrous $220 million price tag.
ESPN's Rob Demovsky broke the news that Zeitler was in Green Bay for a visit, and if he were to join the team, Packers fans must come to the realization that there's basically no chance he plays on Sunday, Oct. 4, when they head to Raymond James Stadium to play the 0-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sure, that's a Buccaneers team without Baker Mayfield, but one could argue facing an undrafted rookie is just as scary.
The Bucs offensive line is in a similar spot to the Packers, but this has quickly become a must-win game, so it wouldn't be surprising to see head coach Matt LaFleur put both Tomlinson and Becton in the game, as long as everything goes well for them the rest of this week.
Packers must sign Zeitler
It doesn't matter how much Zeitler costs or how old he is; he's worth it.
Zeitler, who spent the 2025 season with a horrendous Tennessee Titans team, gave up just 16 pressures all year.
For reference, Jager Burton gave up 10 on Thursday Night Football.
In order for Love to get this offense back on track, he needs people who win in the trenches, and Zeitler has proven that time and time again.
Plus, who doesn't love a good homecoming? The former 2023 Pro Bowler could make the Packers his seventh team in the league, and at this point, Green Bay simply has nothing to lose.
