Despite Jordan Love’s return to full practice, fresh setbacks for Zaire Franklin and Lukas Van Ness leave Green Bay shorthanded as they prepare for a critical NFC North battle.

Even with Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love being upgraded to a full participant, the team saw two new players added to the injury report on Thursday, Oct. 22.

In total, 10 players were listed as limited participants, while wide receiver Bo Melton still did not participate due to a back injury.

The new names to appear a few days prior to the team's Week 7 showdown against the Detroit Lions were linebacker Zaire Franklin and EDGE Lukas Van Ness.

LVN's name has appeared on plenty of these injury reports this season, and while he struggled at times against the Dallas Cowboys, no one can argue that he makes this defense better when he's out on the field.

Franklin, 30, was brought in this offseason after spending his first eight years in the league with the Indianapolis Colts.

According to the report, Franklin is dealing with a shin injury, while LVN appeared on the list due to an illness.

Packers have 10 players listed as limited

The team didn't officially practice on Wednesday, Oct. 21, so all of the injuries and designations listed were all estimations.

Roughly 24 hours later, the Packers gave the Lions a better idea of who's struggling and who's in a good place to play on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Seeing as the Lions only had three players appear on the initial injury report, it's clear these two teams are in vastly different places.

Green Bay improved to 1-1 in NFC North play with a dominant win at home against the Chicago Bears, and they may have won back-to-back games at Lambeau Field, but now it's time for them to head to Ford Field to take on the Lions.

Keep in mind, both Christian Watson and Matthew Golden were still limited participants. Watson is dealing with an ankle injury, while Golden is going through something with his shoulder.

Offensive guard Aaron Banks is still dealing with injuries to both his knee and toe, and then Savion Williams, who recently returned from the IR, remains a limited participant due to his ankle.

On the defensive side of things, Franklin and Van Ness are joined by defensive tackles Anthony Campbell (ankle) and Jordon Riley (Achilles) and cornerbacks Brandon Cisse (shoulder/neck) and Benjamin St-Juste (hamstring).

For Love to see three of his receivers on the report is a bit scary, but there's still a bit of time before Week 7 rolls around for everyone to get healthy.
