The Packers kick off their 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 13, from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Talk about pressure. The Vikings are certainly in a transitional place as a franchise, but getting going against an NFC North foe ratchets up the intensity of this season from the get-go.
It's a big season for the Packers. There's a belief that they're in a Super Bowl window right now, which means every single game is important. That means the intensity will be there in Week 2 at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets and it will certainly be there in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, when the Packers will play at Lambeau Field for the first time in 2026.

In fact, there's a world in which he could find himself in the Top 20 of these rankings heading into 2027, but it is on him to live up to those expectations.
Sorrell was selected by Packers with the 124th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Texas and he brings a great combination of size, speed and athleticism to the table for Green Bay.
Checking in at 6-foot-3, 256 pounds, his RAS (Relative Athletic Score) was 9.27 as a prospect and he ran a 4.68 40-yard dash. In four seasons at Texas, he notched 132 tackles, (25.5 tackles for loss), 15.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
He didn't get a ton of chances to play as a rookie, but he flashed whenever he was on the field. He's also apparently playing well in training camp so far and he worked out with Micah Parsons over the offseason.
2025 Synopsis:
In 14 games played with one start, Sorrell totaled 15 tackles, one tackle for loss, three quarterback hits, six pressures and 1.5 sacks. He played 178 snaps.

Projected Role in 2026:
Sorrell has the opportunity to be a starter if he plays well enough in camp. He'd likely be bumped back to a rotational pass-rusher once Parsons comes back, but if he shows up and plays to his potential he could have a very good 2026 season.
