Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love’s surgical precision and a relentless, five-turnover defensive showing dismantled the Chicago Bears.
The Green Bay Packers' 24-point victory over the Chicago Bears was officially their largest margin of victory in a game since December 23, 2024.
Green Bay's 31-7 win over their NFC North rival was an exclamation mark, to say the least.
Bears fans will say it comes with a grain of salt due to Caleb Williams being ruled out, but two can play at that game, as the Packers defense did all of that without Micah Parsons on the field.
Packers fans have been begging for a signature victory, and while beating a less than 100% Bears team doesn't exactly mean as much as it should, a win is a win, and it was a dominant one at that.
Officially, it's their most lopsided win since Week 16 of the 2024 season when they took down the New Orleans Saints, 34-0.
Jordan Love was nearly perfect
Jordan Love started this game on a heater, and he never looked back. Even without Jayden Reed, the combination of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden made this one of the biggest performances of Love's career.
He finished the game 25/31 for 367 yards with a pair of touchdowns and no interceptions. He was only sacked twice, and while those were a pair of key sacks on what could've been a drive that led to points at the end of the first half, it's not like that was the drive that ended up deciding the game.
Defensive masterclass
Again, the Packers were without Parsons in this game. That's not only their best defensive player, but one of the best in the entire world.
A week after they lost Edgerrin Cooper to a Torn Achilles, they also learned that Javon Hargrave would also be ruled out, likely for the year, with an Achilles injury of his own.
At the end of the day, Green Bay chased Tyson Bagent out of the game, and they limited the Bears to just 3.6 yards per play. Chicago was just 4-for-14 on third down, and they turned the ball over five times.
Trey Smack had a rough day
Time and time again, the Packers are held back due to special teams.
Here in 2026, Green Bay decided to draft a kicker, and it's one who had been nearly perfect through the first four games.
Here in Week 5, Smack was just 1-for-3 with his field goals and missed an extra point.
Mentally, they'll hope he's able to get back on track, and that this doesn't turn into another kicking competition, especially since they don't currently have any others on the roster.
