The Carolina Panthers will be facing an undermanned Eagles team this week.
The Carolina Panthers will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, with the team coming off a bye week.
Carolina will be coming into the game with a record of 2-2 on the season, looking to move over .500 for the first time this year. The Panthers last played against the Detroit Lions, looking very good in the victory.
Coming into the game against the Eagles, Carolina will be facing an undermanned Philadelphia team. The Eagles have been dealing with all sorts of injuries this week, and now starting quarterback Jalen Hurts will be out now due to a scary blood clot issue.
Philadelphia enters the game with a record of 2-3 on the season, having lost three straight coming in. The Eagles will be without Hurts and likely also stars DeVonta Smith and Saquon Barkley, as they deal with ongoing hamstring injuries.
But even with the Eagles being undermanned, the Panthers can't let up, needing to get this victory. Carolina has a much more favorable opportunity in front of them, with the team looking to avoid a major letdown.
Entering the game, multiple experts at Bleacher Report made game picks for the contest, with four of six picking the Panthers to win. Analysts Gary Davenport, Brad Gagnon, Kris Knox, Moe Moton, Brent Sobleski, Wes O'Donnell, and Ian Hanford all made predictions for the game.
Davenport, Knox, Moton, O'Donnell, and Sobleski went with the Panthers, showing some faith in Carolina. The Panthers were favored coming into the game, even before it was announced that Hurts was going to miss the matchup.
For the Panthers to win, the passing game will need to stay the course. Carolina's passing game enters the week as the No. 2 unit in the NFL with quarterback Bryce Young playing at an elite level this year.
After some shaky first seasons, Young has seemed to figure something out on the field, giving the Panthers a chance to win games. Young's play has helped him earn some MVP buzz this season as well, which has been impressive to watch play out.
For the year, Young has thrown for 1,268 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. The veteran quarterback has taken care of the ball this year, and it's led to more success for this group.
Carolina can't overlook the Eagles this week, especially with the team being shorthanded, and they should prepare as if Philadelphia had everyone playing in the game. If the Panthers can grab the win, it could help them build some real momentum the rest of the season.
