The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks both had a key star removed from the injury report ahead of Super Bowl LX.

Both the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks had a bit of an injury scare ahead of Super Bowl LX. Patriots fans have held their breaths since it was revealed quarterback Drake Maye suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Then, during the week of preparations in Santa Clara, star Seahawks defensive rookie Nick Emmanwori sprained his ankle in Wednesday’s practice. However, both fan bases can breathe a sigh of relief, as both Maye and Emmanwori are off the Super Bowl injury report with no game designation for Sunday.

For New England, starting inside linebacker Robert Spillane (ankle) and edge rusher Harold Landry III (knee) are questionable, though both are hopeful about playing. But their quarterback is good to go. For Seattle, it’s great news for their rookie nickelback who has been sensational his first year in the league. He luckily suffered a low ankle sprain, and that usually allows for a quicker comeback. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold was also a full participant for the second straight practice and also has no game designation ahead of Sunday.

Here is the full story from Seahawks Roundtable writer Nathan Karseno on the important injury update and how it shapes the Super Bowl this Sunday.

The only player for Seattle with a game designation is fullback Robbie Ouzts (neck), who is questionable after being limited in all three practices. But they can expect a great outing now from Emmanwori, who was their second-round pick and has been electric to watch in his 11 starts and 14 appearances this season, with a 15th coming Sunday.
