Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay spoke a bit about Aaron Donald's tryout and indicated he thinks it can happen.

The NFL world was set ablaze when former Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald was officially shown as having a tryout with the team. Reports indicated that the workout had to be cataloged due to Donald using a helmet and other training materials.

Regardless of the manner in which Donald worked out, it appears his return to play football is inching closer. Following the practice day, head coach Sean McVay spoke about the tryout and emphatically said, "I think he can make the team."

When McVay was asked about the tryout on "NFL Daily" and it being made official, the Rams coach jokingly said, "best tryout we've ever had." Following the fun nature of the question, McVay then confirmed that Donald could very well make the team.

"I think he could make the team," McVay said.

"Yeah. No, that was honestly our way of being able to get a workout with him within the, you know, parameters of what's necessary. But Giff Smith said it's the greatest tryout he's ever had," McVay added.

Donald has been steadily working his way back into the fold after he announced that the trade for defensive end Myles Garrett may have "lit a fire in him."

It is not often that two Defensive Player of the Year winners play on the same team, let alone two of the greatest pass rushers the NFL has ever seen.

Donald then began his journey to attempt to see if he can play football again. After not playing the past two years, he initially stated he was content without touching the football field again.

Weeks after the Garrett trade, Donald began to change his tune. Shortly after the rumblings of his return became known, the former Rams defender was spotted at the Los Angeles practice facility, engaging in drills.

It wasn't until training camp began that McVay confirmed that Donald was attempting a comeback and was putting his body through the necessary workouts to determine if he could return fully.

McVay admitted what most already knew: Donald would not come back unless he could play a full season in the manner in which he did before he retired.

The Rams already have a high-powered defense with Garrett, linebackers Byron Young and Nate Landman, cornerbacks Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie, and so many more. Adding Donald to that mix could push the Rams over the edge in a significant way.

Defensive coordinator Chris Shula has also been very coy about the possibility of Donald joining the team, but it could be due to it not being official just yet. Either way, the future Hall of Fame defender sounds as if he is all but guaranteed to play in 2026.
