Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams sees big things ahead for Konata Mumpfield.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams understands what it takes to be a strong competitor at his position, as he has been one of the best for over a decade.

With his knowledge of what it takes to excel, Adams sees a lot of promise in fellow receiver Konata Mumpfield. Back before the season began, Adams stated that Mumpfield is "the truth,"  and the veteran has now doubled down on the young pass catcher.

With Puka Nacua out, Adams has naturally stepped up in a big way. The veteran has 332 yards and two touchdowns over the last two games.

On top of Adams' solid Week 2 and Week 3 performance, it was Mumpfield who emerged as the team's WR2 against the Denver Broncos.

Mumpfield secured 93 yards and one touchdown on four receptions, becoming an immediate target for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Despite the strong performances from both Adams and Mumpfield, the Rams were not able to get past the Broncos. However, through that, the emergence of the young receiver may be something that will be explored further.

During media availability on Wednesday, Adams spoke highly of Mumpfield, pointing again to what he sees from the receiver.

"Proud of him. I mean, he works hard and he's one of the most attentive young players that I've been around as far as just wanting to want to get better and understand details of the position or um just all around. I mean, he plays X, F, Z. He literally plays every position. And it's not a lot of players are able to do that, let alone get asked to do that by, you know, a coach like Sean, and he delivers..." Adams said.

Adams has been singing the praises of Mumpfield for months, and though it may have taken him a bit to get going, the Week 3 performance showed exactly what could be in store.

Rams head coach Sean McVay has already confirmed that Nacua will play in Week 4, so that may or may not lower the touches that Mumpfield gets. Then again, Nacua needing to ramp back up might allow Mumpfield to also get more opportunities.

The best-case scenario is that Adams and Nacua return to the normal one-two hit combo they have been, and Mumpfield emerges as the WR3 that the Rams offense has desperately needed.

McVay had also indicated that Mumpefield and Jordan Whittington were up for that role, but the latter of whom also dealt with an injury that kept him out of action.

Mumpfield has been available, but it wasn't until Week 3 that he truly showed what he is capable of. If he can put together another performance like that in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, the offense may have found its next big playmaker.

Granted, it also depends on Stafford having a strong game.

Los Angeles has struggled on both sides of the ball at times, hence their 1-2 record. It is no time to panic, but the team needs to find a new way to finish drives and win games.

With Nacua returning, that will certainly help the offense, as will the rise of Mumpfield if it continues to move in the way that it did in Week 3.
