Los Angeles Rams cornerback Derion Kendrick has found a new home.
Kendrick has signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. NFL insider Tom Pelissero shared the news via X.
The 25-year-old is set to enter the fifth season of his NFL career. He spent the first four years of his career in Los Angeles in two different stints.
Kendrick's contract with the Cowboys is a one-year, $4 million deal. The Cowboys are heavily retooling on the defensive side of the ball after a disastrous 2025 season.
Dallas ranked 30th in yards allowed and last in pass defense. This overhaul comes after the Cowboys hired new defensive coordinator Christian Parker, and are shifting to a 3-4 scheme to fix a unit that surrendered 60 touchdowns.
The Rams already lost Cobie Durant to the Cowboys, and now they lose another one to Dallas.
While that is the case, the Rams had no use for either Durant or Kendrick after trading for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie and signing Jaylen Watson to improve the secondary.
Kendrick split his time between the Rams and the Seattle Seahawks in 2025. The Rams waived Kendrick in late August 2025 as part of the final roster cuts.
The Seahawks claimed him off waivers a few days later. He played most of the season in Seattle, where he tallied seven total tackles, five passes defended, one tackle for loss and two interceptions in 10 games.
In late November, the Seahawks decided to cut ties with the former sixth-round pick. A day later, the Rams claimed him off waivers. In his brief second stint with the Rams, Kendrick played in five games where he recorded three total tackles.
The South Carolina native finishes his Rams career, tallying 95 total tackles, three tackles for loss, 14 passes defended, and one interception in 37 games and 18 starts.
The Rams selected Kendrick in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia. He was the 212th overall pick in the draft that spring. Kendrick spent three seasons in Clemson and one in Geogia
Kendrick was a standout player for the Tigers and Bulldogs. He led them both to a national championship in 2018 (with Clemson) and 2021 (with Georgia). The cornerback was also named to the second-team All-ACC in 2019, first-team All-ACC in 2020 and first-team All-SEC in 2021.
He is set to play a vital role for a Cowboys team looking to bounce back in a big way in 2026.
