Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter outlines aggresive approach that he has in mind for superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter wants to see a lot more out of superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson

Minter made an appearance in this week's league meetings. While speaking to the media, the new Ravens head coach detailed different ways to maximize Jackson. One way Minter outlined was to utilize Jackson on fourth down and be more aggressive on that approach.

"Lamar's a fourth-down weapon at quarterback that can do a lot of different things. The reason for the aggression is often the types of players that you have. In those moments, the ability for the quarterback to make off-schedule plays and get key conversions is critical," Minter said

Jackson is one of the more dynamic and explosive players in the league. The 29-year-old has established himself as an elite signal caller who can do it all. There are very few weaknesses in his game, and Minter will look to utilize them this season and possibly beyond.

The past regime has certainly viewed Jackson as a weapon on fourth down, and Minter will look to do the same. The two-time NFL MVP is a dual threat, and the Ravens have benefited from it time and time again.

In the past, former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has often utilized analytical data to justify these decisions, even if it leads to high-profile failures. It's unclear what type of approach Minter will use compared to Harbaugh, but it appears he will likely go with his gut more often than not.

Minter's approach is nothing like the coach he was under for the past number of years: Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh. Nonetheless, Minter will look to make his stamp in the league, and he'll do so with arguably the best player in the league in Jackson.

Jackson will enter his ninth season in the league, all with Baltimore. The Florida native will look to finally get his team over the hump after an underwhelming 2025 season. It was certainly one to forget, but they'll get a fresh, new start in 2026.

There are a ton of changes that Jackson will need to get adjusted to, and that not only includes a new head coach but a ton of new players. The Ravens have lost a total of 11 players in free agency, including center Tyler Linderbaum, tight end Isaiah Likley, safety Alohi Gilman and cornerback Ar'Darius Washington, to name a few.

Baltimore has endured a ton of change in the span of a month, but as long as Jackson is under center, they will be in good hands.
