Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter has confirmed that wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane will be on IR after undergoing surgery.
Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter has now confirmed that rookie wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane is being added to the IR (injured reserve) following successful surgery on his wrist.
Minter had not outright stated the significance of the injury, but Lane will now be out for the next four games as he recovers from the wrist injury he sustained during Week 1. Additionally, the team is also set to make a roster move for Lane's absence.
"Ja'Kobi Lane, we'll end up putting him on IR. He had successful surgery this morning. Definitely have a really good chance of coming back here pretty quickly, I would say. We'll bring Chris Moore up to the 53-man roster," Minter said.
Minter confirmed that Lane did undergo successful surgery, and he also indicated that the rookie receiver could be back very soon. As it stands, Lane will be out for the next four regular season games due to the rules for being placed on IR, but he may also be healed up in time and could return within that time frame.
Minter and the coaching staff are clearly taking things easy with Lane and want to ensure that he is completely healed before taking the field again.
Moore is also being added to the 53-man roster, which makes sense considering his performance during Week 1.
The veteran receiver picked up 121 return yards on four attempts for a 30.3 yards per return average, along with catching a 53-yard bomb from quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Moore showed plenty of promise during preseason, but he was cut when the Ravens were cutting down their roster to 53 by the deadline. The veteran then chose to return to the practice squad.
Now, Moore will be added to the active roster to replace Lane.
Baltimore may have lost Lane and could be without Zay Flowers as well due to his suffering a hamstring injury, but there are some strong candidates to step in.
Along with Moore, the Ravens offense has Rashod Bateman, LaJohntay Wester, Devontez Walker, and Elijah Sarratt. Walker missed Week 1 due to a groin injury.

On top of offering an update on Lane, Minter also revealed that defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike is also now "day-to-day." The team will evaluate Madubuike at the end of the week to determine if he will be ready to play.
Getting Madubuike will be huge for the defense, as the unit already played very well against the Indianapolis Colts.
Madubuike has been ramping up after undergoing offseason neck surgery, and he needed a bit longer to heal and missed Week 1 . Now, it appears he could be ready to go for Week 2.
