The Baltimore Ravens have now signed multiple offensive linemen following the injuries to Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic.
The Baltimore Ravens have wasted no time bringing in depth after their injuries in Week 3. Starting center Jovaughn Gwyn and backup Ethan Pocic were both injured, and both are reportedly set to be out long-term.
With the losses at center, the Ravens pivoted to rookie guard Vega Ioane, who moved into center to finish out the win against the Dallas Cowboys. Now, the plan is to move forward with Ioane in the middle of the line, and the team has also brought in more reinforcements.
The Ravens tried out multiple linemen on Tuesday, one of whom has been signed to the practice squad.
Baltimore tried out:
Center Kinglsey Eguakun
Center Graham Glasgow
Guard Kyle Hergel
Of those three linemen who received tryouts, the Ravens have now signed guard Kyle Hergel to the practice squad. Additionally, the team announced the signing of center Andre James.
James most recently played with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2025, where he appeared in 17 games and started one. Prior to that, he played for the Las Vegas Raiders from 2020 to 2024, where he started at center for 59 games.
James is now the most experienced center on the roster, but he may not be thrown into starting for the Ravens immediately.
Baltimore head coach Jesse Minter had stated that they will find the best five linemen moving forward, and the team is also still dealing with the injury to left tackle Ronnie Stanley.
It would make sense for Minter and offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford to want to keep Ioane at right guard and have James start, but that remains to be seen.
Minter also confirmed that Ioane would be taking snaps at center this week and would be the starter for Week 4. If he is solid in the middle, the Ravens may choose to keep him there.
Finding a strong offensive line matters a great deal for all teams, and the Ravens have now lost three centers for long periods of time. Danny Pinter was in the mix to start, but suffered a season-ending tendon tear during joint practices in training camp.
Ioane may be the solution, but he has been very good at the right guard position, which may prompt the Ravens to want to keep him there and utilize James in the center position once he gets up to speed.
Ioane could be the starter for a brief period, but that will be decided as Baltimore prepares to face the Tennessee Titans.
